Sorry I Pooped in Your Shoe (and Other Heartwarming Letters from Doggie) by Jeremy Greenberg

If dogs could use the computer and Microsoft Notepad, this is what you would get. Absolutely the funniest thing I've read in a long time. You really don't have to be a dog person to appreciate the humor in these "doggie missives".  Oh, and make sure you change your password to your computer so the cat can't ghost write as the dog.

Honestly, If you love dogs as much as I do, you will roar with laughter! Several of the situations in the book were all too familiar to me and my family. 

Code Blue Book Review

The following review is one I also posted on Amazon.com. If I like a book, I let the world know. If I don't, I still let the world know. I'm sort of funny that way. This book was great but as I said below, it had a very unexpected ending.

"I really enjoyed this novel but was a bit surprised when it ended. I had downloaded this novel for free when it was offered free for Kindle and started reading it one night when I had nothing better to do. The plot did reel me in for most of the book but seemed to rush to finish the ending. It was a great Christian novel in that it addressed the subject of coming back to God after major life disappointments but as a mystery it could have been fleshed out a bit more before you got to the end. Thank you for the free download."

A Gathering Of Crows

I bought this novel at a discount book store and WOW! was I surprised. It was excellent. I had never read Brian Keene before but I will be buying his novels now. I can't believe I overlooked this author. If you are a fan of horror as I am, you will want to start reading his novels.


I posted this review on Amazon.com simply because it was a great novel and I wanted everyone else to know how truly fantastic it was. 




"Very seldom does a horror novel grip me these days like "A Gathering Of Crows". The last time was when I read Stephen King's novel "It". I have very little time to read these days but I finished this novel in two days! If you love a good horror read, you're going to love this one!"

Wolf's Trap

I read this novel in one day. After I started reading, I couldn't put it down. The review I put below is one that I also posted on Amazon.com.

This Bram Stoker award winner is a wonderful blend of supernatural and serial killer. The serial killer who knows the identity of the werewolf is a wonderful twist on the same old paranormal/supernatural theme. Gagliani has a handle on what it takes to be a horror novelist and he richly deserved the Bram Stoker award. Five stars all the way on this one. 


This book was NOT given to me and I bought it because it looked like something I would enjoy. 

The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven

Book Review:


I read this book with some trepidation and quite a bit of skepticism. As a Christian, I believe we have an afterlife to look forward to and enter into with great joy. I have read several of the "I went to Heaven and came back." books, this one was very touching. The only thing I saw that didn't mesh up with the tiles was that this narrative didn't tell much of what Colton saw in Heaven. But,I believe God doesn't want us to know much more than what is in the Bible for fear we would want to go ahead of his scheduled time for us. 

However, the story of the parent's struggles and God's amazing grace toward this family gives me such encouragement I intend to read it again and again. I highly recommend it for Christian reading and for those who are feeling themselves drawn toward God.

May Musings

Well, the family reunion is over. The company have left and we have a decently clean house....again. We love our family and would love to live by them but it would be impossible. To leave our children and grandchildren would be agonizing. We had fur children guests as well and we loved it! What well behaved fur children they were! Gizmo, Rosita, and Choco were here as our guests. Our fur children, Jordan and Emmalita, loved seeing their far away father, sister and cousin and had a blast with them here. Treats were given freely and love was too. So, on to the "to do" list today. Thank you for your readership and for your patience.

Wondering About Things This Afternoon

Good afternoon everyone! We are currently in the process of spring cleaning if you can call it that since it takes me until fall to get it  all done. LOL  I have the wonderful privilege of sitting her and looking out my window at our bird feeder and seeing all of the little birds that come and go to get food. I've seen a goldfinch, a cardinal and several other species which I can't identify. God is good to us. We have been stressed out quite a bit but hopefully things will get better.

We are going to feed our son and daughter in law's dogs and cats this evening since they have left for the weekend for a much needed break. I have no idea why, but it seems everyone is so stressed these days. Strange weather patterns, lots of stress, son against father and father against son. Does all of that sound familiar dear readers? We saw 30 minutes of news about all of the deaths and devastation in the Southern part of the US and 7+ hours of coverage of the royal wedding. I think we all have our priorities wrong. It makes me wonder sometimes but I guess the news media gives the general public what they want.

Our dogs are happy and, at the moment, healthy and I thank our Lord for that. We all have a lot to be thankful for and remember always that someone loves you, you may have to search for them, but they are there nonetheless.

Are You In Oz?

We have, again, survived some very strong storms. We didn't have a tornado like a lot of states have had but we had plenty of rain and flash flooding. I will be praying for the people who have lost loved ones in this horrible weather. No amount of wishing or praying will turn back time, but comfort is there nonetheless.  Our bridge which leads to our place has again been washed out a bit but is still passable. Again, we were spared greater damage even though our place is surrounded by huge trees including an oak and a hickory tree which have to be at least a hundred years old. Everyone stay safe in this wild weather pattern time and be prepared for anything.

What I'm Reading

I just finished "unfinished business" by James Van Praagh. In it he discusses the regrets those who have passed on and those who are left behind experience when they don't forgive or listen to each other. There are some heartbreaking stories about people who were either too busy or too bull-headed to deal with each other when they still have time on this plane of existence. I'm sure we all can identify with those sentiments remembering things we could have said or acts of kindness we could have done while our loved ones are still alive.

All together a great read and if you are like me, it will give you quite a bit to think about. I would recommend reading this with an open mind and an open heart. Life's lessons are learned, sometimes a bit too late.

Books, Dogs and Knitting Needles?

You have to be intrigued by the title. So what do the three above items have to do with each other. Basically, my dogs are always with me. Whether I'm reading, knitting, cleaning, or just sleeping, they are my constant companions. Other than my husband, my dogs are and always have been faithful companions who don't let me out of their sight, not that my husband is clingy.

We moved "up the hollar" as we say in Eastern Kentucky, three years ago. We were lucky enough to find a place where the wild animals are abundant and the silence is wonderful! The first week we were here, I sat on my front porch and watched as a wild turkey launched itself from the hill behind our place and landed clumsily in our front yard. "It's a good thing" as Martha Stewart would say. I enjoy watching the animals and seeing what Mother Nature has in store for us day by day. Some days I have to wonder if the faries are hiding in the brush by our house poking animals with sticks to send them vaulting into my yard.

So on to books. I love to read. If you don't find me on my computer reading you will find me reading a physical copy of a book. I have very eclectic tastes in literature in other words, if it looks good, I'll read it!

I'm currently reading another of Brian Keene's works called "Jack's Magic Beans". This is a collection of short stories he has put together and I'm enjoying every one. It is not however, for the faint of heart. The esteemed Mr. Keene writes horror novels, very, very, scary horror novels.....Wooooooooooooooooo!

I had just finished the first novel I had read of his by the title of "A Gathering Of Crows". I have to say, I haven't enjoyed a novel as much since I first read "The Stand" from Stephen King. His characters are the type of "standing still will get you killed" characters which carry a lesson in each death. His heroes and heroines are  generally the type of people others would call "broken" but who, in spite of their faults and failures, are the ones who will save the rest of the "perfect" people. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word of this novel and if you are a fan of good horror, you will too.

Alright, for the knitting needles. I have knitted since I was in the fourth grade of elementary school. I enrolled in our county's 4-H club's knitting group even though I was the only one in our elementary school who did so that year. Our school librarian, Mrs. Wilma Greenhill,  got me started by teaching me the basics and the game was on from then. When I was in the sixth grade in elementary school, I taught a basic class to my peers and to the lower grades. I continued knitting until I was in college and found I didn't have time to pursue anything but reading my textbooks and completing assignments. When I finished college and started working I was too busy to think of anything except further learning my new profession. I did keep crocheting to some extent but not as much as I did before.

Four years ago, my husband and I moved from my parents old home to a place in a nearby town. I actually thought of knitting again and the game was afoot...again! I have had something on the needles ever since and now I wonder how I let my love of knitting languish so long. I am currently knitting an afghan in the round in our local large university's colors, blue and white.

Well, supper is on and I have to stir the beans or they'll burn. Gotta go this time, I'll be back soon to tell you how things are progressing.
